First Lightning 100 New Music Sampler

Veteran Programmer Judy McNutt arrives for a short stint as PD.

A young 20-year-old woman, distraught over a recent break-up with her husband, sneaks past the WRLT receptionist and heads toward the outside observation deck balcony.  At approximately 4pm, after several minutes of contemplation, she jumps to her death 30 floors below.  Fred Buc was on-the-air at the time for David Hall, who was attending an industry convention out of town.  Staffers are in shock over this traumatic event and counseling is offered to staffers to deal with this tragedy.


"Radio Lightning" becomes the first radio station in Nashville to broadcast a live simulcast stream of its FM signal over the internet.

Local comedian Adam Dread joins Dan McGrath on-air for mornings, adding a "shock radio" component to "Morning Lightning".

Long-time Executive Producer, John Conlon exits.
TIB President Lester Turner, Jr. removes Ned Horton as General Manager and General Sales Manager Roger Bertolini.  David Tune is named "Interim" General Manager.  Fred Buc becomes Director of Operations & Administration.
WRLT debuts a weekly live broadcast series, "Nashville Sunday Night" from a new venue in Nashville called "3rd & Lindsley".

A national publication, "Broadcasting & Cable" magazine recognizes WRLT's website as one of the 10 best radio websites in the country. 
Tom Hansen arrives as new Chief Engineer replacing Gibson Prichard.
