An industry article appears in "Radio & Records" revealing that several of Music Row's top label executives admit they listen regularly to Lightning 100 and not Country radio. The reason: They're looking to hear new music and talent to sign to their labels, and can't find that on Nashville's tightly-formatted Country stations.

Part-time air talent Jason Moon Wilkins decides to go on the road with local artist Garrison Starr. He would later become the founder and innovator of the annual "Next Big Nashville" festival.
